It was under difficult conditions that in 1962/63 our parents and grandparents Hermann and Anna Stöckl built the inn “Venedigerhof” next to their farm called “Moosen” in this beautiful location. In 1981, their daughter Elisabeth took over and ever since then, she has been running the business with her husband Gerhard Düvelmeyer. In accordance with the spirit of the times, they have made the Venedigerhof a holiday paradise in the Hohe Tauern national park. Meanwhile our inn is run by the third generation, our three children and our daughter in law. Our youngest son Stefan married Katrin in October 2010 and since February 2011 we are proud grand parents of our little granddaughter Lilith Sophie.
Since 1968, we have specialized in being a place for teenagers, pupils, families and clubs. As a result of our unremitting efforts, the house and the sports facilities are state of the art. Most recently, we have built accessible rooms and elevators. Meanwhile, the Venedigerhof has became one of the best known youth and family hotels in the region of the Hohe Tauern national park and the Pinzgau in Salzburg and we are pleased to have lots of regular guests.
1978 Extension west (extension of the kitchen, 5 rooms, shower facilities, WC)
1979 Construction of sauna and solarium
1985 Renovation and extension of guest rooms and dining rooms
1987 Purchase of guest house
Construction of the tennis and soccer courts (with floodlights) In winter, the tennis court is transformed into an ice rink and a curling sheet.
1989 Construction of the hall for leisure activities with an airgun shooting range and a fitness room as well as renovation and extension of the rooms on the first floor (shower/WC). Furthermore, in 1996, the combined heat and power unit was built. The two older heating systems in the Venedigerhof and the guest house were replaced by the new unit. The heat output of the new unit is 12 kW thermal and 60 kW electrical. The unit is used to provide the Venedigerhof and its new extension as well as the guest house with hot water and electricity. The entire unit uses liquid gas, which is environmentally friendly. Furthermore, the houses are provided with our own mountain spring water (excellent quality drinking-water). Guests can drink tap water and water from a well without any hesitation. 2013 – Venedigerhof goes solar In 2015, most of the rooms in our guesthouse Düvelmeyer got a “fresh look”. We partly refurbished all rooms to provide maximum comfort and an even more pleasant stay. 2016 We sadly have to announce that our dear Gerd Düvelmeyer passed away this may. Although he was not feeling well for a while, it left us in tears losing him so quickly. We thank god for the love and kindness he gave us throughout the years. |
